1969: AEL Sit-in
For nine days in April, 1969 hundreds of students and their allies occupied Stanford's Applied Electronics Laboratory, site of classified military research. Occupiers baked bread, took over a printing press, and held interminable meetings, using the sit-in as a based for organizing the entire Stanford campus.
