Robert F. (Bob) Griffin

d. 1972

Bob Griffin was born into a Catholic San Francisco family. It was in San Francisco where he met his future wife, Victoria deSantos, to his family’s displeasure. The two married and traveled down the peninsula, where Bob found a job at Stanford University, growing gems for the physics labs.

Bob and Victoria had three children: Cindy, Angie, and Christopher—the loves of Bob’s life. However, that love couldn’t erase his overwhelming sadness at the world. He disguised that sadness with a bearded smile.

He joined Venceremos, as a member of the Workers Action Caucus, to change the world and make it better, but before that could be achieved, his sadness got the better of him, leading him to take his life in 1972.
